HOW IT WORKS

This is how payment processing typically works: when a customer uses a debit or credit card for a purchase, the merchant pays a fee to 1) the customer’s credit card company, 2) the card associations and a number of network providers, and 3) a payment processor.

The first two are commonly referred to as “interchange,” but all three are usually bundled together into one “discount rate” and/or “transaction fee,” which is then divvied up behind the scenes. As you can expect, credit card companies, card associations, and payment processors typically keep 100% of their fees.

But Telos is different. We donate 50% of our processing fee to the charity of each merchant’s choice. That gives you the power to put your money into positive action. Without paying a penny more, you become a valuable and consistent source of support for your chosen nonprofit.
